1. Information processed by the App

Profile and receipt information

The App lets you create profiles and record information from receipts. Depending on how you use the App, this information may include:

• your name and optional company name;
• tax labels, tax rates, currency preferences, and other profile settings;
• receipt images;
• merchant or issuing-company names;
• purchase dates, totals, tax amounts, payment types, and other receipt details; and
• edits you make to scanned or imported receipt information.

This information is provided by you or extracted from receipt images using Apple’s on-device text-recognition technologies.

Camera and photo library

With your permission, the App may access:

• the camera, so you can scan a receipt; and
• photos that you select from your photo library, so you can import an existing receipt image.

The App does not access the camera or photo library without the relevant permission and user action.

Purchase information

If you purchase or restore the Full Version, Apple processes the transaction through the App Store. The App receives information necessary to confirm whether the Full Version entitlement is active. We do not receive or store your full payment-card or banking details.

Advertising and device information

The free version of the App uses Google Mobile Ads to display app-open and banner advertisements. Google and its advertising partners may process:

• device and advertising identifiers, where permitted;
• IP address;
• general device information, operating-system version, language, and approximate location inferred from IP address;
• advertisement impressions, interactions, clicks, and diagnostic information;
• consent and privacy choices; and
• information used for fraud prevention, security, frequency capping, advertising measurement, and, where permitted, personalized advertising.

The exact information processed by Google can depend on your location, device settings, consent choices, and whether App Tracking Transparency permission is granted.

2. How information is used

Information is processed to:

• scan receipts and recognize receipt text;
• create and manage profiles and receipt records;
• display, search, filter, edit, archive, delete, and export receipts;
• create CSV or PDF exports when requested;
• provide and restore the Full Version;
• remove advertising when the Full Version is active;
• display and measure advertisements in the free version;
• maintain security, prevent fraud, diagnose errors, and improve reliability; and
• comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.

Receipt information is not used by Gallop & Thrive to make financial, accounting, tax, credit, insurance, employment, or other automated eligibility decisions.

3. On-device processing and storage

Receipt text recognition is performed on the device using Apple Vision technologies. Based on the current version of the App, Gallop & Thrive does not upload your receipt images or extracted receipt contents to a Gallop & Thrive server for text recognition.

Profiles, receipt records, saved receipt images, thumbnails, preferences, and Full Version status are stored locally on your device using Apple storage technologies. This locally stored information may also be included in device backups depending on your Apple device and backup settings.

If a future version introduces cloud synchronization, remote receipt processing, analytics, or another server-based feature, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when that processing begins.

4. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your receipt images, extracted receipt contents, or profile information.

User-directed sharing

When you choose to export or share a CSV file, PDF, receipt image, or other information, the information is sent to the application, service, person, or destination you select through Apple’s sharing interface. The recipient’s privacy practices then apply.

Google advertising services

Google Mobile Ads and participating advertising partners may process advertising, device, consent, diagnostic, and interaction information as described above. For more information, review:

Apple services

Apple processes App Store purchases, restores, TestFlight distribution, operating-system permissions, and related information under the Apple Privacy Policy.

Legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or a valid governmental request; protect the rights, safety, and security of users or others; investigate fraud or abuse; or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Business changes

If Gallop & Thrive is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information associated with the App may be transferred subject to appropriate confidentiality and privacy protections.

5. Advertising choices, consent, and tracking

Where required, the App or Google’s User Messaging Platform may ask for advertising consent and provide privacy choices.

On supported Apple devices, you may also be asked whether you allow the App to track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. You may decline this request. If you decline, the App may continue to display advertisements, but the advertising identifier will not be available for tracking or personalized advertising through that permission.

You can review or change Apple tracking permission under Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Where the App displays a “Privacy Choices” option, you may use it to review available advertising privacy choices. You may also control certain personalized-ad settings through your Apple device or Google account, where available.

Purchasing the Full Version disables advertisements within the App.

6. Data retention and deletion

Local profile and receipt information remains on your device until you delete individual receipts, delete a profile, or remove the App. Deleting a profile is intended to delete its associated receipt records and locally stored receipt images. Removing the App generally removes its locally stored data, subject to Apple backup and restoration behavior.

Temporary files created for CSV or PDF sharing may remain temporarily in the App’s storage or in destinations selected by you, the operating system, or receiving applications.

Advertising and purchase providers retain information according to their own policies and legal obligations.

Because Gallop & Thrive does not currently maintain user accounts or a server-side copy of your receipt database, we generally cannot access, recover, or remotely delete receipt information stored only on your device.

7. Security

We use the protections provided by iOS and take reasonable measures designed to protect information handled by the App. However, no device, storage system, or method of electronic processing is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining control of your device, passcode, backups, exported files, and destinations to which you share information.

8. Children’s privacy

The App is intended as a general receipt-organization and expense-tracking tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly request that children provide personal information to Gallop & Thrive through an account or server operated by us. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us directly, please contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

9. International processing

Google, Apple, and their service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Their respective privacy policies describe the safeguards they apply to international processing.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.

For receipt and profile information stored only on your device, you can exercise control directly in the App by editing or deleting records and profiles, or by deleting the App. For information processed by Apple or Google, use the privacy controls and request mechanisms provided by those companies.

You may contact us about a privacy request using the details below. We may need to verify your request and may be unable to retrieve information that is stored only on your device.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, our practices, third-party services, or legal requirements change. We will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the App after an update means that the updated policy applies to your subsequent use.
